Fellows this is great stuff!! It's the real deal, red varnish coated 12ga magnet wire. I made a bi-wired pair for my AAD 2001 monitors & it bested my Signal cable speaker cables (not bi-wired) & my Canare 4S11 bi-wired cables. I terminated w/ GLS locking banana plugs & these cables are definetely her to stay. No need for me to spend another dime on speaker cables. They are that good. If you're as curious as I was here's your chance. I'm practically giving it away at .35ft just so others as curious as me can give it a shot, & 3.00 per order to cover s&h in the States. Outside the States s&h depends on where it's going. If interested send me a PM. You won't be disappointed!!!!

    Zero,

Thanks for the great feedback. The performance of this wire is amazing. I'm a little puzzled that I've not gotten any takers on this offer yet from fellow Polkies. I posted the same offer on Audio Circle forum & I've sold a couple hundrd feet already. Maybe the guys there are just more curious & willing to give it a try. Come on Polkies you won't be disappointed.

I only have one large spool of the wire. Guys over at Audio Circle are sucking it up pretty fast. If interested you'd better pull the trigger quick. This wire is really amazing in it's musical presentation!! Oh, and by the way, you sure as heck can't beat the price!!

It *is* anti-cable... (minus the terminations) -- and... like... 1/32 of the price.

Not so much of a review. I made one pair of cable and replaced one of the audioquest bedrock's. Surprisingly, the magnetic wire blended in with the bedrock quite well. The bedrock has more detail especially the mid. The bottom is also tighter; however, one is totally broken in, and the other one is virtually virgin. That may not be any kind of fair comparision. With a set fo lockable premium bananas, the magnetic wire is approx 1/4 of the bedrock. I think it is quite a bargain.

A question to Zero and Phil, how did you remove the coating? I just scrap it with a utility knife. Maybe I should use some fine grit sand paper instead....

    Hi Zero,

Cool, I am going to do the termination, that should improve the contact, and thus, the SQ. I am going to sand it down to the bare copper and apply some ProGold for protection and contact enhancement. I will have have to buy more from Phil if he still has any left. I ordered only half of what I need, you probably know why I underestimate ..... I treat them as conventional speaker cable, LOL.

I too received the wire today. This looks to be the same type of wire that is used in the Solen inductors that I am using in building the crossovers of the DIY speaker that I am making. I sanded it on the inductors should I then be using something to cover up the bare wire? Given that it has a function as an inductor when it is curled is it vital then to keep it as straight as possible as speaker wire? Even though I have no idea what function an inductor plays.

    Thanks Phil,

Thanks to everyone that bought the magnet wire. Hopefully you're as impressed with it as I am. I am currently sold out but I am trying to find another good deal & buying some more. I had great success scraping the varnish off with a plain old dinner knife. I made sure I got it back before the wife saw what I was doing with it. I made a bi-wired pair using GLS locking banana plugs. It really turned out great. Let's hear some feedback on how you like your new cables!!!

    Cheers,
    Phil

I redid the termination last night. I found the wifey's finger nail file-like polish sticks very useful to remove the coating :D and she was looking me like
