Cable Modem signal booster

I installed this last night and am really happy with the difference. I wanted to say though that originaly obtained some diagrams that recommended that you split the incoming feed and give one line off that to the cable modem and the other side goes to the booster then on to cable box/set whatever.
I was confused because I thought in addition to a stronger signal for the video it would also amp the return signal and improve internet performance, so why seperate an unamplified signal and loose that return amplification.
So as usual I went against advice and split it, one line to the cable box/dvr and one line to my motorola wireless modem/router.
The signal supplied to all 5 tv's is now excellent and the computer seems to be a little quicker in populating screens as they open (maybe a placebo affect though). Just wanted to share that.

Rat shack sells a bi-directional amp that is PPV and cable modem compatible.
$30. The one with a four port splitter is $50.
