Hey im building a flexy rack. Just a small 2ft one, withe 1/2'' threaded rods.
I was looking for something to go over the threaded rodds on the bottom feet, something like a rubber foot. What do you all think about these?
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=260-774
Would they fit over a 1/2'' threaded rod?
Does anyone have any other ideas from experience?
Thanks!

I used accorn nuts, work well on carpet, similar to spikes

^^ I bet that would work well on carpet. I'll add 5 of those to my parts list. Hmm, what about the tops...maybe I oughta make it 10...George Grand wrote: »

My flexi rack was going on carpet,so i just used a bench grinder and ground a
V point on the bottom end of each rod. Cheap and easy. I couldn't find acorn
nuts in the 5/8" size. For the top, I used nuts with the rubber insert to keep them from loosening up. They also have a slight taper, which looks better, too.
I did the one off style, where you cover the 5/8" rod with 1/2" painted PVC
pipe."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
Accorn nuts work great- Just don't pay too much. HD has two kinds, one is like $1.50 for six, one is like $1.50 each (zink vs Stainless, IIRC). The cheap ones are fine. Oh and if you grind them down- thread them onto some spare rod. I nearly lost an eye when a nut popped out of the vice grips I was holding it with and went flying around the room.
I think those rubber feet only have a small hole in the center (big enough for a wood screw), so you'd have to figure out a way to grind out the center with out shredding them.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19
