Rockstar - Supernova

My wife and I watch this religiously.

My takes:
Navarro is a real interesting fella and I find he is usually spot on with his critiques.

Tommy Lee is, of course, perverse and adds good humor.

Gilby is also right on with his reviews.

Jason Newstad appears painfully thoughtful - it's great when he hates a performance, he can't hide it at all.

And, damn the House Bank rocks. All in all, a great production that beats the heck out of ordinary night-time TV.

Is anyone else on this board watching? If so, what are your thoughts?

    I'm watching this also...and I don't know why????
I am so sick of hearing the same **** songs over and over! ie: Nirvana, Stones, lather, rinse, repeat.
I will agree with one thing..that house band RULES!

i've tuned in and caught a few episodes... it's ok. it's not as good as last season's RockStar INXS though. that one was much better i thought. I can't stand Tommy Lee... and i don't know who the other two musicians are. Dave Navarro is cool though.

I do know.. that it's highly doubtful that a woman will be chosen to lead this band, Supernova. Just my opinion is all.

Ya, I agree on the song selections. Hard to beleive that a couple of the female vocalists keep trying some of those too. I expect most of them to drop off real soon. Storm and that other gal from Houston will be around a while.

Yes, it's Delana from Houston. I certainly haven't ran into her in the parts of town I run around in... but she is pretty good and will be there to the end. I knida figure the bald guy will win.

    Yes, the name is super-cheesy.

Super Nova sounds like a bunch of 8-year-old ninjas had a brainstorming meeting. hehe

    Supernova meanings. from dictionary.com

    1. A rare celestial phenomenon involving the explosion of most of the material in a star, resulting in an extremely bright, short-lived object that emits vast amounts of energy.

    2. a star that explodes and becomes extremely luminous in the process

I had high hopes for this, but have been a little disappointed.

You're right about the house band though. If these lead singers were smart, they would be working a deal in the background with them instead of Supernova.

I caught the last half hour of the show last week. That one woman "Storm" was the best I heard. I was so pumped by her performance that I switched from my tv speakers to my stereo (I usually only do this when I'm watching a good movie). I hope she takes it. I agree that the name sucks.

Horrible show. Watching the judges during the performances, and how into it they get, made me honestly feel embarrassed to even be watching. My brother felt the same way and we had to turn it off.

The chicks are hot, well, Delana could cut you with all that mouth and nose jewelry, but besides that they are hot, maybe they did not want to waste a good band name on a group not likely to succeed.

I have noticed all these reality shows now charge money for you to call in with some kind of vote. Is it really true that millions are doing this at .50-1.00 a throw. Wow, amazing, we should do that here.

Yep, watching it as well. So much better and enjoyable than American Idol. The house band is 'effing awesome. I hope they keep the series going especially during the summer when all the reruns are playing. I also throughly enjoyed the 10 episodes or so of Supergroup on VH-1. I swore several years ago I wan't going to ride the reality TV wave, but after several years some shows have sucked me in.

sad but true.. most of these shows not only get your attention for 60 mins they also get your money with cell phone text messages that cost too. They are rolling in the bucks on that.

Well this show has held my attention, the beautiful women are dropping like flies.

Dilana really hurt herself with the wild comments, that thing coming out beneath her bottom lip, damm, that thing could cut you. I think she should lose the Mickey Mouse hair.

    Storm has great thighs.

I don't know exactly why but I just see this band with a male vocalist.

Yep, the house band rocks, they should go on tour.
