Come on power tool freaks (that's you, Ron)! Has anyone ever compared these two rotary tools? Everyone knows the Dremel name and reputation, but how is the B&D?

Ha! I was eyeing up these babies at HD just last week. Go Dremel, a quality product. The B&D looks prettier, but sucks.
I have exactly '0' faith in anything with a B&D name attached to it. Every tool I have owned has dropped dead after only a few years of ownership. There for pretty boy construction.

We're probably going to pick one up tonight; it's a belated father's day gift. My dad was interested in the B&D, because its motor is rated at 2A vs. 1.15A on the Dremel. He claims this means that the motor is more powerful and tough. Me, I always invoke the "you get what you pay for" clause. Why does the B&D cost $20 less than the Dremel? Makes me wonder. That's a pretty significant margin for as little as these things cost.

Agreed. I have owned a Dremel for many, many years now and that little sucker still runs like a champ.

Check out Aaron's dad, going by the stats only, not even getting his demo on.....

I have the B&D. I think I bought it a bit cheaper and it uses all the Dremel stuff also. No complaints. Well built and powerful. I am building a cat tree for my next project. Yee! Haa!

Scott,
Thanks for the info. It looks like I was wrong on the prices. The RTX-2, which has the flexi-shaft, is the same price as the Dremel MultiPro.
