Will CS1 sound ok with rti line?
First time polkie here!!!
I just bought a complete rti setup (RTi8's front, CSi3 Center, FXi3's surround and Velodyne DLS-5000R sub), but I just discovered the CSi3 it too big for the space where I am putting my center speaker. My opening is just slightly bigger than 19", and the only Polk Center I can find that will fit in there is the CS1.
I am sooo disappointed right now. I'm affraid that having the CS1 for a center won't sound right with my other speakers. Anyone have any experience with this speaker? Or even in this same application? Am I in for a big dissapointment if I get the CS1, or is it going to work out ok? If it helps, I have a Sony STDR-3000 ES receiver, so I'm hoping that worst case I could maybe try to adjust the sound levels on that specific speaker on the receiver.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Club Polk Forums rev29K! Not a good match. Give it a try if they'll exchange it. In the long run you may need a bigger stand. You'll be happier in the end with a good center match!Carl

The problem is that the opening in my entertainment center is the only place I can put the center, and it's only 19" wide. The speaker isn't on stands, it's going to be in a square opening in an entertainment center.

How tall is your opening. There is always the option of using a single RTi4 or RTi6 to utilize as a center channel. I've done this at several different times. If your space will allow it, go with the larger 6.Tschüss

Well, I went ahead and just got a CS1 for the center. I hooked it up, just finished hanging my fxi3's, and so far everything sounds great. Of course I'm just listening to music in 5 Channel right now. But so far so good. I'm having a hard time noticing any substancial differences. Any idea of a specific test that might show any flaws with using the CS1 as a substitute?
BTW, in case I haven't said thanks to everyone for the help --- Thanks!! -
It all depends on what sounds good to you. Congrats.
