Samsung 40" flat panel LCD

Anyone own a 40" Samsung LCD flat panel? I amTHIS close to finally getting my sh't together and I liked it better than the Sony. Wondered if anyone had any problems. I found the blacks and whites to be on par with the Sony and I have a thing for the bright picture. And, the price is better than Sony. I asked about tv ops a while back, but no one mentioned the Samsung. They seem to have stepped up to the plate as of late. The only "negative's" I have read are so-so SD broadcast quality.

    Just to let you know Costco and Sams Club have the Sony for $2150. I saw BB it was like $2300ish. Dont know if this helpes at all but i thought id share...

    I was looking at one at BB the other day and it is very nice looking I found it to be stunning. As far as the SD broadcast IQ that is a problem with fixed resolution panels so I wouldn't worry about that too much as they all suffer from that issue. On my set I have a specific setting for SD whereas HD and gaming both have their own as well. You have to be careful when you look at HD set from Costco or Sam's Club as some manufactures have certain spec set that are specifically designed to be sold at those stores and they have been said to be lower quality.

    Thanks for the info. I have heard those places sometime have specific models as well that are only sold there. That way, they can guarantee best price on models because they are the only ones with that model. Don't know if that is fact or fiction. Just down the way in Charleston. Lot's of family in Savannah/Tybee.
