Help us newbies out a little

I have been reading just about every post that's come on here for the last 4 or 5 months now. I am like a sponge soaking up all the information i can about everything that's discussed on this forum. One problem i have is that when i'm reading the product reviews there are terms used that i just don't exactly understand, like "soundstage" and "imaging" and more. People are using these terms to describe the way certain things are sounding to them, and the words themselves look great in the review, but i wish someone would point me in the right direction to find what these mean in terms of what your ears are actually hearing. I can definitely hear when i like the sound of a system but i'd like to know how to put it in words, describing exactly what it is i'm hearing that i like...or dislike.
