How important is to match rear to main speakers?

I currently have RTi38 as my main and CSi30 as my center channel speakers. I am looking to add rear surround speakers.

Due to room shape and asymmetry, I am restricted to mounting my surround speakers on the ceiling. The initial speakers I looked at were FXi30 or FXi50. However, I find them to be too bulky to be hanging off the celing.

Do you think it makes sense to to use Polk Satellite speakers from the RM 6750 series for rear surround. Will it sound okay with my main speakers?

Also I was wondering If I can use a speaker from a different manufacturer. I was considering Omnisat Micro - supposedly an omnipole speaker, and is reasonably small.

Should do OK... It won't be ideal, but it doesn't sound like your making a super dedicated HT room anyway. I would say that what you propose is a very good solution. Staying within the same brand should give you a very close match for timbre charactoristics without causing too much of a search. Most speaker designers go for a singular type of sound and that tends to be consistant throughout the lines I would hesitate if you were mixing polks with say klipsch's or other speakers that have vastly different charactoristics. I have not heard the omnisats so I can't speak for them

Go with one of their outdoor models. Their smaller than the bookshelves but bigger than the satellites. Plus they come with mounting brackets to boot. This solution is exclusively for HT purposes though. If you're thinking of SACD then you might want to go with a different solution.
