Hey, I haven't had a land line phone for almost 8 years, and I have no idea what companies provide land line service any more.

I'm pissed at Comcast and will be cancelling all services through them by the end of the week. I'm going DSL (i know, slower than cable), but at this point, I'm done putting money into the deceitful lil **** that I've talked to at Comcast.

So......who knows the local phone company? (i've checked Quest and Verizon, but neither has service in IL according to their websites).

Brett, make sure you're checking the ATT/SBC combined site since ATT bought out SBC. I checked a couple of addresses on Burlington St in Lisle 60532 and they both have DSL available.
Maybe it's just certain areas of Lisle? It's widely available now so I'd be surprised if they have a big gap anywhere.

That's what I'm thinking too....I'm going to call them tomorrow to get a human to answer the question....If the option is keeping Comcast or going dial up, I'm going old school and dial up.

    brett,
I work in I.T. for SBC (AT&T). If you want to PM me your address, I can check on the DSL availability. Or I can sumbit a phone number you can be reached at with priority to have someone call you (I'd need your first and last name too).
Plus (no reason to lie), the referral for me to submit your name looks good to my directors ;)
Interesting the company even wants their programmers to make referrals. It's like a company wide thing.
Anyway, if I don't hear from ya, no sweat, hope things work out.

I've got a land line with AT&T/SBC for phone and DSL. DSL only runs me $13.99/month for a year and is fast enough for me. I refuse to give any more money to Comcast than I already do for TV, so the DSL works for me.
