Ok my current setup is:

Head Unit: Pioneer MOSFET 50Wx4
Door and rear speakers: MTXs i dont remember what size but they dont matter for this.
Amp: XiAZ 460watt 2/1 channel dual amp
Sub: 10" MTX Thunder 7500 enclosed in w=20.25" h=15" d=15" box

It bangs ok. But i want to transform it to be more competitive. I dont need the most blasting system in the universe, but I want something that can be felt and heard from around the corner you know? Please give me some specific items that i could look at for this. My trunk probably couldnt hold much more than a w=30" h=17.5" d=20" enclosure. Chevy Caviler 2002 LS. So yea, if someone could help me out. Oh as for my budget...i have about $650 before selling anything (i will of course sell my current enclosed MTX sub and possibly the amp and/or head unit if they arent right for the job). I could go a little over it, so if you got somethin in mind just post it and ill see what i can do if its over too much. Thx for assistance

If you want something that will not only get loud, but also play very clean I would recommend the Soundsplinter RL-p12. These things are known for being able to do both.

would you recommend 1 or 2? is my amp fine for this? and is there a box that would be best to put them in? like link me to one that would probably be the best to model when i look for one (or build 1)

Contact Mike, he is the owner. Very nice guy and will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. One of those ported would get very loud, but stay very clean as well. Had I not had space issues, I would have gotten one of those in a hearbeat. My subwoofer is a very good sub, very musical, but the RL-p is another beast all together.

Just make sure you build the box to spec to get the most you can out of the subs :). Should definately be louder than your previous setup.

well id like 1k watts of power or more, and i dont wanna spend over 175 ish for an amp. i dont want a crap one either, but yea i dont have but about 200 bux left now and tax will of course push the price up there. (shipping aswell if i order online.) but i could possibly get my dad to loan me some money so if you have something in mind could you post a few links to some amps that would do me good?

There is no way you are going to get a new 1Kilowatt amp for that price, at least not one that actually makes that power. Your best bet would be to look on Ebay to find one.

Here is a link to a Kicker ZR-600. They usually put out a little over 800 watts RMS.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Kicker-ZR-600-Old-School-Amp-Made-in-USA_W0QQitemZ170011383746QQihZ007QQcategoryZ48598QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Here is an Alpine MRV-1507.

Now the links are just to show you what is out there. It will be up to you to check out the sellers.

Look for the older stuff from Rockford, Kicker, PPI, Alpine, and MTX. There are others, but these you could get for a good price.

well im getting a job in about 5 months so id like to get an amp that can push some better subs in the future. i'm kind of trying to go from small-decent-great system in 3 steps. as of now i got someone who will buy my mtx for 80. so now ive got that going, and these infinity subs coming in and im gonna use these until i get my job and save about a grand and go for some crazy subs. but id like to take care of the amp now because i want to solely focus on getting the best subs i can in the future. as for now the 65 dollar infinitys will do for replacing the mtx. so anyways when this guy buys my sub i will be able to buy probably a 250 dollar amp. i'd like to get one that could push some subs maybe like the soundsplinters, i dont know what im gonna get down the road. but i dont want to buy an amp that i would need to replace if i got better subs. so will that infinity do for some 600 watt rms subs possibly?

ok so you say that i should figure out which subs i am aiming at long term NOW, and that once i have those in mind i can buy an amp that will do for these infinitys but also work for the subs i am trying to get eventually. do you think those sount splinters would be good to aim at? or is there another brand of subs that would be better

I would not get that Infinity amp. I would take either of the two amps that I mentioned earlier, or from any of those manufacturers I mentioned in a heartbeat over that one.

As for the Soundsplinter subs, you will be very hard pressed to find anything compareable at that price range. Those subs will hang with subs that cost alot more.
