Monitor 5 Series 2...what ohms?

I have an old pair of M5 that I want to set up with a refurbed Onkyo for my mom. She'll only use FM or CD and never crank it up.
The Onkyo is a TX8011 with 50watts/channel but doesn't say its 6 or 4 ohm capable.
I searched here, but couldn't find the answer easily. If I recall the speakers are 6 ohm. I just din't know if the Onkyo will trip under this circumstance or if I'm over-worrying.

Hello,
Any solid state receiver is fine with speaker impedances from 4 to 16 Ohms. That's the nice thing about transistors, they have low output impedances and can develop power into a wide range of loads. Some times receiver manufacturers specify a certain load to allow the unit to pass certain temperature requirements. The Monitor 5 will have a nominal impedance of 6 Ohms and should be fine. If the receiver is used with a low impedance, say below 3 Ohms, at fairly high volumes it will have to produce higher amounts of current (gallons-per-minute) which, in turn, increases heat and could trip any protection circuits. Lower the volume and all's well.

I'm really pleased with the Klipsch/KEF combo I have with my main stereo.
However, for my office stereo, I just picked up the set of RTA 8TLs someone on this site had pointed out. (got them, then saw the post that evening when I got back.)
I've had a set of M7s for for decades (they were built in 91)
The third set is Pioneer CS-722s.
My question: What is the best two-speaker type combo and why?
Also, I looked for info on the RTAs on this site and didn't find much.
What are the highlights and lowlights with them?
thanks,

I'm overwhelmed by the "talent" on this site and underwhelmed by its management. too many rules, and too cumbersome an interface. now I'll go repost, under a new thread.
