Does this DVD player exist?

I want a DVD player that has at least a 5 disk carousel/changer.
HDMI output including upconversion of DVD to HD.
Must play DVD Audio, SACD, HDCD, MP3, etc. etc. Basically, everything.
Anything like this from any highend folks at all, or am I just looking at Yamaha, Sony, etc?
Closest I have come has all the above except HDCD.
Thanks!

Some tendencies to consider.
Centralized systems are more efficient.
De-Centralized systems are more effective.

HDCD should be a very minor consideration.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Everything except the multi disc capability. But you can get up to change the disc
Lexicon RT-20 (Get out your credit card)
"The RT-20 is Lexicons top-of-the-line universal disc player. Designed to provide superior audio and video performance with virtually any of the 5 optical media discs, it supports DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD-R/W, SACD, CD, CD-R/W, MP-3, JPEG, Video CD and S-VCD. The RT-20 takes the universal disc player to a new level with a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), built-in video processing, and extremely precise Digital-to-Analog converters (DAC)."
Edit: Disregard, just checked again, it doesn't have HDCD either. Guess it is worthless:rolleyes: -
Again, not a changer, but the Oppo 970-HD does all that plus dixv.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Thanks for the replies, except for the Fisher Price one.
The carousel is actually just so the wife can keep 3 or 4 DVDs in the machine at all times, while I change mine in and out.
If I can't find this, I may just keep the cheapy carousel that we have hooked up and just add a high end one for my own use.
Thanks!

P.S. I will probably never even own an HDCD but I figure heh, why not cover all the bases if I can. I really love DVD Audio the best. I wish that could become a new standard and we could retire CDs.

Onkyo DV-CP802... just no upconversion (which isn't a bad thing).Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

The NAD M55 meets all of the audio/video criteria (yes HDCD too). However it is NOT a changer and it retails for $1,799.

It's my opinion that these all-in-one type units, especially carousel/mega changer types are a compromise at best. Jack of all, master of none. Hence the Fisher-Price comment.I may just keep the cheapy carousel that we have hooked up and just add a high end one for my own use.
That's solid thinking.
You probably own more HDCD's than you're aware of. A lot of them are not labeled as such. DVD-A is dead, it morphed into DualDisc, which has flopped big time.Political Correctness'.........defined

F1nut, I agree on the "quality" of the carousel changers. I use a Sony changer that houses 400 cd's but it goes through an MSB Link external DAC and that made a big difference in the sound.
Using the "shuffle" mode allows me to listen to music tracks I didn't know I had and I can just let the thing play for hours.
I have a Sony ES??? for more serious listening.Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. Thanks for the continued response.
I wish DVD-A wasn't dead
As far as the HDCD thing, well perhaps I will use an AVR or Preamp/processor that has built in HDCD decoding, then that won't be an issue.
As for the suggestion about the HD player. All I can say is
LOL.
I am not gonna touch this first generation. I have played with that model a bit and can't stand it. Poor responsiveness, very glitchy, etc. etc.
Give me 3rd generation or better yet, give me an actual winner in the standards wars, then I might invest in one. Not to mention, the pricing model for the media needs to be a bit more consumer friendly.
I am sort of looking at the Denon 2910 or 3910 atm as far as my personal player while leaving the wife/kids with the Sony carousel.

DId it sound like a joke? No I wasnt joking, the upscaling in that thing is insane. True indeed it doesnt play every format mentioned, however it is a quality DVD player, and it surely is kicking the heck out of Blu-Ray. Rackspace providing go with a high quality DVDp then add a CDp that can handle your audio. Just my 2 pennies.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

HDCD is a MAJOR consideration. Definitely worth the trouble to get that right. Duh.

yeah, but upscaling is the _only_ thing on his list that it has... and that thing is super twitchy. I went to check one out at BB and the display one was frozen when I got there, they restarted it, I played around for a few minutes and it locked up again. but then it might just be BB.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

The Denon 2910 would be an excellent choice. Also don't forget to check out the Oppo mentioned above...

Trust us...This feature is not important. I had many HDCD recorded discs that I didn't even know they were HDCD encoded, but My Cary CDP has an
HDCD decoder and I don't notice even a tiny difference. The only differences there are..1. Your quality of equipment and 2. The quality of the recording. If you have a good system that is capable of revealing the recording for what it is...Then Bad in Bad out...Good in Good out...Get a quality player without regard for HDCD..If you want a universal without breaking the bank try Denon.
Happy hunting

I bought a NAD player because it was HDCD capable. I disagree in that there is no advantage. While not SACD quality, the HDCD is superior to redbook on the same recording....at least on the CDs that I've compared."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Shack,
My main point is don't sacrifice player quality to get all the bells and whistles in one bundle, which wont yield any noticable difference. Now in saying that everyones taste or what they hear is subjective. The only improvements I've heard are from SACD,or DVD-A. any HDCD disc that sounds great also sounds great on non HDCD playersYamaha RX-V863

I am almost sold on the Denon 3910. I may, just may, get a Yamaha DVD-C950 for the wife/kids so that they can more easily acomodate playing on the upcoming HDTV. Gets them some scaling, HDMI etc, while I get the 3910 for superior quality, especially sonic quality.

My point WAS and still IS that HDCD is better than the redbook on the same CD and is worth having. So much so that I made sure my CDP was HDCD capable."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais
