I may have spelled it wrong in the subject, but I met someone who might be looking to sell his. They are 30 years old in great shape. Just a couple of niks in the plywood.

I told him I might be able get him in touch with a buyer. :)

Well, not technically boxes; they are three-way horns. Unfortunately the bass (folded) horn is a bit too small (compare a LaScala to a Klipschorn).
Audiokarma and Audio Asylum member Tom Brennan likens the sound of the LaScalas to a Sawzall. The MF and HF horns overwhelm the bass, and the bass doesn't go too low.

IMNSHO, the Cornwall is better balanced; even though the bass is flabbier, there's deeper bass from a Cornwall.

If you really want horn-loaded bass (and there's a lot to be said for it), the venerable Klipschorn is (IMO) a better way to go.

You definitely have to like the "Klipsch" sound to get into them. I never cared much for horn loaded speakers, personally.

A customer of a store I installed for had two pair of Corner Horns and one pair
of La Scalas in the same room and would play them so loud that his ears bled.

Buzz Saw huh? Doesn't sound too satisfying. Are there any high efficiency speakers out there that sound good too?

I liked the Forte II's when I had them for about 6 months. My grandparent's also had an original K-Horn which sounded incredible, especially after the xover upgrades.

    Just don't sit too close.
Lovin that music year after year.

Oh, yah! Altec made plenty; I am particularly partial to the 604 Duplex (coax) drivers, but that's just me. I have a pair of 604B's just waiting to have some enclosures built for them.

The Cornwalls are very good with tubes (I have a pair sitting in the LR).

Dr. Bruce Edgar's Edgarhorn Titans are among the best sounding speakers I know of.

Then, of course, some of the classic Tannoys are excellent.

Electrovoice made some good sounding fullrange and coax drivers, too.
