on a web site of an integrated amp and tuner I had back in the mid-70's.
The speakers were Pioneer HPM 100's.
Brought back some memories when I saw those. Lived in an apartment off base with 2 other shipmates; hard to bring home "chicks" when home was a berthing compartment.
One of the roommates had a pair of Pioneer speakers that we hooked up to this rig; can't remember the model number, but they really sounded nice.
The grill covers were sort of a pleated curtain arrangement, not just a flat grill cover. Very nice sounding speakers.

That Sansui tuner (TU-9900) is one of the best tuners ever made (integrated amp not too shabby either). Those tuners bring some big bucks on the vintage market (couple of good looking ones on the Bay right now).
I use a Sansui 999 that blew away my Adcom digital tuner. Bought it at a yard sale for no money and took it to my repair guy to check it out. He was floored after he tested it. Said it was one of the best tuners he's seen. -

I gave it to my sister and brother-in-law for a wedding present.
I'm an idiot.
Yep, that amp was very nice; I'm going to have to look up the specs on that brick. Kind of a warm, mellow sound, but it played that way when pictures were rattling off the wall (or the cops were knocking at the door). Neighbors never complained, though.
That tuner kicked butt, didn't bother to take names, and than re-kicked the same butts for good measure. <sigh>
Stack the tuner on top of that amp and ....... cheese and crackers ..... what a work of art !!
I'm really glad my sister and brother-in-law enjoyed those components so much. Until my brother-in-law sold them to his brother.
