Sweet.
Is this your first foray into a 'mid fi' player?Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -

Nah, I got that Onix from AV123 - the Onix kicks mega butt.
The Cambridge, I havnt thrown a CD into it yet.
Behringers are some of the best speakers Ive heard for the money. Ive found though they are not the biggest foot tapper. While they are enjoyable to listen to and insanely detailed, I just dont like bookshelfs as much as I do towers. However - I dont regret getting them, mainly because it allowed me to downsize and start saving for some monsterous gear in the next year. Im currently saving, but its going to be big. Cant wait...
I may have to throw in some Terminator 3 and see how this all ends up though... will return with more thoughts, as always. I'm digging it though, far more options than my POS Panasonic and 10 times the quality.
I dont need a "high end" DVD player. A high end CD Player is definitely in the cards though, in the future.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Yeah, I'd definitely be interested in hearing how the Cambridge stacks up against the Onix for music. I'm guessing the Onix smokes it. Although it's a DVD player, the darn thing sounds almost exactly like it's brother -- the 640C CD player. Cambridge gear -- great performers at their price point.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

A few thoughts...
The Cambridge is a nice sounding player...
However,
Playing a few songs 2 or 3 times, then putting it in the Onix...
The Onix is definitely the superior player (to me). The Onix seemed to reproduce cymbals (drums in general) alot* better than the Cambridge did. The vocals also seemed more prominant and the stage seemed more seperated.
However, in the Cambridges defense, I have Ratshack cables between it and the pre which I plan to fix one of these days soon.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
