My SDA 1Bs1

Alright, so I saw them listed on Craigslist for $350 (if you recall a previous post) and was a bit worried about there quality. He sent pictures and they seemed quite nice. He was about an hour and a half away and offered to meet me half way... and so we did. I appraised them and found a very interesting thing: they were black. Now I know the 1C's come in studio black, but I sent in an email to polk and they claim that the 1B's in black oak were very limited production so now I have a real collectible as well!

Gave him my $350 and away I went. I have them set up right now in the bedroom until I clear some space for them but I have to say WOW!!! I never expected a soundstage like this before... and the sound is to die for. I can only imagine what they will sound if/when I upgrade the tweets and replace the caps. I can only imagine what the SRS series sounds like as well.

All I know is that I'm very, very happy with these. Thanks for convincing me Polk forums!

Here are a couple pictures of the temporary setup. Sorry about the mess in the room, just too much stuff in the house. For right now, I'm upgrading a set of R30's and a psw10 sub in the corner there. Ultimately, they'll replace my LSI 7s whose box is apparent in all of the pictures.

    Kicks **** doesn't it? They look really nice! Buying my SDA's was the only upgrade that actually paid me to do :) I only spent $50 and probably $15 of gas on mine. I think I might be addicted. Since I have the smaller ones I'm afraid I always drooling over the big brothers. It truly is a disease.

    BTW, looks like you gave up functionality and aesthetics in favor or better sound. A wise choice :)

    Wow. But I agree, they kick some serious ****. I'm very tempted to pull out the 8 hour cold tomorrow and "nurse" myself back to health to some good tunes :D
