Hi there again.
I recently decided to revamp my HT and i'm starting to remember that there is no such thing as revamping..... Anyways, one of the first things i needed to buy was a good powerbar and i believe that the MONSTER Home Theatre POWERBAR® 2100 with Clean Power Stage 2 v.2.0 solved that problem.

Now, the powerbar has High Current Audio Filter Outlets designed for high power audio components like amplifiers and pre/amplifiers. Since the RT2000i's have 2 pre-amplified subs each, should i plug them in those outlets ?

Thanks in advance for the quick reply and read on if you want to see how outdated i am.
On a side note, it is amazing to see how fast technology changes. Just a few years back i used to be up to date with everything but life caught up to me and i had to step away from the scene for a while. I just got back into it lately and i feel "OLD". Visited a few stores and the salesman just lost me with all those digital EX, pro logic IIx, RDS, AL24, THX ULTRA 2..... Yeah sure that sounds nice but i have no clue what it means. What happened to good old DTS, Pro Logic 2, THX ? Are they allready obsolete ?!
But what really bothers me is the damn HDMI standard. I'm from the old generation or at least an older generation that took for granted that the receiver handled the sound side of things while video components handled the video. I mean, back then if you wanted the best results you had your component cable linking your DVD to you TV for the video and your fiber optical cable linking your DVD to your RECEIVER for the audio . 2 seperate cables for both signals right ? So where does this HDMI thing stand ? It combined both signals into one cable but are the audio/video performances as good or better than the component/fiber optical cables combination ? And do receivers handle pictures now ? Is HDMI recommended for DVD players ? I want the sound of my DVD player to be handled by my RECEIVER and not by those crappy plasma TV speakers. Now i have a DENON AVR-3802 as a receiver and it doesn't have HDMI in/outputs. What is the best wiring method to achieve best quality ? The classic fiber optic/component combo or should i link my TV to my DVD with an HDMI cable and then link the DVD to the receiver with fiber optic ?
Now let's say that i had a receiver with HDMI in/outputs. What would the best wiring method be if i wanted to get the best quality ? (Plasma TV & DVD with hdmi in/outputs).
As you can see, i'M lost....
