Emmylou Harris ("Producer's Cut" is a good career retrospective available in 5.1 DVD-A)

Nickel Creek (progressive alt-country; "Why Should the Fire Die" is a brilliant album!)

Lee Ann Womack ("Greatest Hits" 5.1 DualDisc)

+1 on Lyle Lovett - great sound quality on his stuff too.

Delbert McClinton - not country per se - really a mix of blues, honky tonk R&B, and country. Nothing Personal from a few years back has become one of my desert island CDs.

I've got a box set of 4 cds by Patsy Cline put out by the CMA. It has every thing she recorded. Old stuff but classics.

Vintage Chet Atkins guitar sounds great on Polks.

Gary Allan - Tough All Over

Just got this one last week, good album.

Do yourself a favor and pick up some Montgomery Gentry also.

Big N Rich has a new one out, I don't care for some of the wheels off stuff that they do, but '8th of November' is a song you NEED to hear - knowing the kind of patriotic person you are.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I've really enjoyed listening to some songs off of Eric Church's website. If I see his CD around, I'd probably buy it. "How about You" has been on CMT as of late.

"The Legend of Johnny Cash" is another good CD that can be found at Target.

Some new guy Jason Leaman, or Aldeman or Jason something, anyway, his hit is the track Hicktown, the guy rocks pretty good and the disc has some nice tunes.

    YES!!

I think Emmylou Harris was mentioned already as was Allison Krauss. I'd also consider Willie Nelson...some of his stuff was really well recorded. Really, lots of good stuff out there.

Everyone should also own a copy of Lester Flatt and Earl Scrugg's Foggy Mountain Breakdown

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
