just got it hooked up minutes ago.. sounds good but i havent popped in a dvd yet to really hear them.. The volume on the denon seems to need to be alot higher then when i used it as a receiver. i did calibrate everything already also.. is this normal?

next is a new rack.. we looked high and low and couldn't find one locally we liked

When I hooked up my Carver and re-calibrated, I had to lower the channel levels on my HK from +3 (level calibrated with no separate amp) to -4 (w/ the amp).

Could be a lower voltage level output on the Denon's pre-out

Yep. Outlaw has 2 volt input sensitivity. Won't hurt anything, you just have ot crank the volume a little more.

As some have noted before, it is your level out on your Denon. The same scenario a friend had with his Denon. I swapped out his Denon w/ my Sony Pre and the sound was a lot louder. So he went out and bought a dedicated Nakamichi Pre for his amp. The issue was solved.

watched a few demo's and the outlaw certainly has alot more slam then the denon internal amps.. Very neutral amp as far as i can tell so far.. I say again this amp is heavy as hell.. My parasound 1200 didn't weigh what this thing does. The fed ex "lady" must have had a heck of a walk across my 50' + front yard with this thing..

These Lsi15's have some major bass that i never thought could come from a tower.. I thought we had a sub in a few parts of the movie..

Did you figure out what was causing this. Is it only on certain inputs or is it on everything that plays threw the receiver?

It seemed like that on tv broadcast and dvr recorded stuff.. which seems to need higher volume anyway.. The dvd playback was normal.. im used to the denon sound for what, 2 -3 years so it was just different at first.. Think it might be ok, just getting used to different sound and drive..

Was it the improvement you were looking for? I'm stuck between just ordering the 7125 to add to my 3805 or just go ahead and order the 990/7700 combo. I may just add the 7125 to my current setup due to just finding out today I may have to spend $4000 on a new a/c for the house. Beings I'm only downstairs like once a week to watch movies I'm thinking it may be more cost effective just to by the 7125 and save myself $2000.

    This is weird:
    http://usa.denon.com/AVR3803_ownersmanual.pdf

So the output from digital sources is 2v, but from analog is 1.2... That would explain the differences that you're hearing.

My quandry: A new SVS PB-12 plus or an outlaw 7125? It will be one or the other. I'm quite satisfied with the sound of my Pioneer VSX-1015TX, but was wondering if the 7125 would give me more of a boost than if I went with a bigger and better sub? It would replace my PSW650. Any suggestions? Not trying to hijack the thread, but it seems like a good place to post since there is discussion of the 7125.

Faster, Congrats. Very nice amp you have there.
