I have a cs1 center, monitor 40's front/left, and I am going to replace the surround L, and surround R with monitor 40's. Can I somehow hook up both my monitor 30's onto the surround back channel? Or should I just connect one and leave it?

How would I go about wiring the pair if its a good idea? How far apart? The reciever I am using is a yamaha 5740

Thanks

    I would only use the one speaker for the 6.1 surround back.
    Receiver: harmankardon AVR235
    Mains: polk R30
    Center: polk CSi3
    Rear Surrounds: polk R20
    Subwoofer: polk PSW404
    DVD: Panasonic DVD-S29

    That would work fine. Keep a look out in the flea market for used centers.

    i found a single monitor 40 for sale. should i use the monitor, or should i use the center? whats the difference between the 2? the center would actually work better since the box is kinda skinnier, and would be easier to hang on the wall

    thanks

    I would go with the Monitor 40, it matches your surrounds and goes a tick lower.
    Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70
