I ordered 05/21 and got it yesterday, 07/31. Using Darla taps the tank from Finding Nemo, the new woofer seems to make some things vibrate more noticably, like the access panel for the fireplace. I don't have the time to recalibrate but did dial it down -2 for now.

The old woofer has spade connectors, the replacement has spring loaded push-lock connectors.

I recieved my NSD on Thursday, it sounds lighter and quicker on music but I put on "War of the Worlds" and I could feel the shock waves go through me with my 25-31PCi.

I received my 12.3 upgrade today. I have installed it and will be placing the original driver in the classified section for any Polkies that would like to build or upgrade their sub.

My calibrations showed it a decimal or so louder than the original. Of course this is without any breakin time. I will post more as I exercise the new woofer a bit.

I got my 12.3's today and installed them in about 30 minutes. I haven't recalibrated yet. I listened to an SACD (Roxy Music's Avalon) and all I can say is "wow"!. I didn't listen to it vey loud but the bass seemed so much clearer and tighter than before. I don't consided myself an expert audiophile and was doubtful that I would notice any difference but I did. I'll have see how it performs on movies now. Now I have to figure out what to do with the 12.2's. For the money, I'd have to say it is one of the best upgrades I could have made. Of course, my best upgrade was getting Polks and sending my Bose speakers to the land fill where they belong.

I got mine a yesterday and I had issue aligning the holes for the new woofer on the amp side :( . I spent almost 30 mins struggling to place it. The woofer on the farthest side of the amp was fine. Apart from this issue the installation went fine.
Played U-571 depth charge right after that and did not find much difference but again I did not calibrate it.
Will have to spent more time on it to feel the difference.
Has somebody thought of doing a DIY project with the spare woofers? I'm very much interested doing it myself but would need some help designing the correct box for it.
Let us know if somebody has attempted it.

my old 12.2's weigh in at 17.5 lbs and the new 12.3's weigh in at 19 lbs. don't know if i heard a difference or not. they need to break in and i didn't have time to sit down and compare old vs. new as i had to repair a leaking roof. damn my priorities suck ****. but at least now i have a nice speaker to work with in making a box for my truck. i'll pit this svs 12.2 up against my jl audio's any day.

Received my NSD driver yesterday. Nice improvement. More musical and efficient. well worth the $75 upgrade. I hihgly recommend it. Had a little trobule removing the long screw holding the base into the bottom of the unit. I stripped the nut and had to glue the rubber space separating the base of the unit from the floor plate. I use some glue and an oak dowel pi to secrue in down. Drilling and using an easy out to revoce the stripped bolt would have been a nightmare.

Anyone have suggestions on how to mount spikes on to the bottom of the floor plate. It seems like drilling and mounting spike into the plastice base would be the best alternative. /the glued on hald dome supplied by SVS are a quality improvement they should incorporate into a new design. At least provide an easy option for installin spike. I few picture of my install. The NSD drive is on the right, a picture of the Bash amp and the inside of the PB-q=12 cabinent. also the nice cromed rear of the original ISD. The ISD is a pretty drive.

Overall I'm stisfied the sub is more musical, faster and diesn't sacrifice any of the hard hitting base.

i'll be fiberglassing the bottom, hopefully this weekend. then i'll create the internal bracing. simple sealed box with 525 watts available to power the sub. the sub is 4 ohm nominal impedence. perfect for bridging my amp mono. i'm only making the box for one 12" sub. box will have the correct airspace. two would be a bigger box and not fit in the truck. now, what to do with the other 12.3 sub...

Received the email and a phone message telling me that my replacement driver will be delivered tommorow. I am really looking forward to replacing my original PB1-ISD (now called the PB12-ISD) driver.

Throwing this out here first, (to be followed by the classifieds) but is anyone interested in purchasing my old driver? Was purchased three years ago and is perfect. Let me know, so all you do-it-yourselfers can have first dibs!

real well, but this one sure does. This SVS is now a full fledged keeper.

Can you please give us the details of how you build the sub with your 12.1 driver. Lots of us would appreciate that.
What's the box dimensions? Is the box hand made or you bought it prebuilt?

It seems a couple of us are interested in trying DIY subs for our main or second systems. I am betting that you could find a buyer right here - "Schwarcw" sold his in 16 minutes at the right price. You post count isn't high enough for the Flea Market; do you sell on e-bay so folks can verify your positive feedback?

[Edit] As I read through this thread it apears that quite a few members may want to rid themselves of their old drivers - please do!
