You could split the signal from your Onk with a standard Y cable. Yes that size room could use two subs. I run two subs, I moved them around a bit then settled on stacking them, I use my subs for HT, you will need to determine whats best for your room based on how you will use them.

You could also run them via speaker line level. Daisy chain them together and spend some time tuning them might get good results.

Due to an awkward room design putting my subs in 2 different locations was not an option so I used a y splitter and stacked mine. My room is approx. 14x17 and running the 2 subs is not overkill.

my vote is split the output (y -cable) then connect both subs.

It took me a while to find a good place for both my subs. its going to take trial and error with one sub, much less two.

stacking is certainly a viable method. in my rood, it doesnt work asa well as the way I have it now, but it is VERY MUCH worth the effort to try. if it flies, it makes placement real easy.

I am getting a second sub for my system and it arrives tomorrow. I intend to place it behind the FL speaker but if anyone has any other suggestions from looking at my room I would appreciate it. What does the stacking thing achieve?

Co-located subs work together to produce more SPL with less cancellations.
