There's two models of the Toshiba you know.

The Toshiba HD-A1 retails in Canada for $699 CDN, however, the player has been seen in stores on-sale for as low as $595 CDN

The only deferences between the two models is this:

    *Sturdier build
    *Moterized Door
*Port for one of those super remotes that controls your house

    And thats it.

Now given the fact that Bruce Lee movies are coming out on HD-DvD this week, and retailers have had over 73% of their Blu-Ray players returned (I blame samsung, not the format) it's clear the winner till the Holidays is HD-DVD.

let alone spending money on electronics at Wal-Mart.

Personally, I'm all blu-ray myself. I see it as a format winning. I mean, what other platforms are helping HD DVD? Just itself. BD has BD, computers, PS3 and camcorders all under it's belt. Not to mention Sony already released it's VAIO with a BD recorder.
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

There are HD-DVD drives for computers. Microsoft is one of the largest supporters of the HD-DVD format, as for game consoles the X-box 360 will have a external HD-DVD drive out this Christmas. I have also yet to see a single camcorder that records to a BD-Rom. That's not to say they don't exsist, but I'm curious as to how they'd make a disk small enough for a camcorder and still keep the HD quality. Do you have a link do one I could check out?

The RCA is basically the same thing as the Tosh. A bit of a different industrial design and I believe that's the biggest difference.

The RCA is the cheaper brother of the toshiba but both are the exact same thing. I'm going to seat back and wait for the smoke to clear in the format wars before buying either one.

Sony has their BD camcorder in test phases right now... no real info yet. I just saw some shots of it from a sony rep who saw a prototype.
