yamaha rx 730 as preamp?

Does anybody have any thoughts on me using a yamaha 2 channel reciever (1989 vintage) as my preamp and getting 2 outlaw monoblocks. I liked the sound of the old yamaha.

    I use my Yamaha for a preamp (as well as to drive the center and rears for HT). I like the sound. If you want to change later you have the amps already. Use decent interconnects and speakerwire. You will like what you hear. I listen to all music in 2 ch no effect mode.
