Here are a few movies I've viewed recently. They will be rated on the 1 to 10 scale that I always abide by.
Annapolis: Decent flick, good acting, hot girl I thought it would be more about basic training, but was almost solely about boxing. Worth a rent for sure. 6 / 10.
Hellboy: Wife hated it. I loved it. Extremely dry humor, cool special effects, terrific sound. First time see for me, and I bought it No Oscars here, but nice tight fun with lots of creatures ta boot. 7 / 10.
The Devil wears Prada: Chick flick to the max. Actually enjoyed it. Great story, fast paced, excellent acting. I probably would buy it even. Suck it up guys, if the girl wants to go, and actually explore your feminine designer side. You will be a changed man. 8 / 10
Pirates of the Caribbean’s: Curse of the Black Pearl: What can I say? I needed to refresh before seeing the new one in the theater. I'm Depp's biggest fan. 9.5 / 10
Friday Night Lights: Choppy movie. Wasn't terribly impressed. I blind bought it, but wish I really hadn't. Wife hated it. I thought it was very well done, but you never bonded with any of the actors. Not the greatest acting either, accents sounded fake since it was in Texas. Good story line, and worth the rental for the football action alone. 5 / 10.
Terminator 3: Just finished watching this tonight. What a great film. Fabulous sound quality, nice PQ. The female terminator was perfect, and I loved the ending. Not what you expected and totally leaves it open for a fourth. A must own for any collection, IMO. Compliments the first two to a tee. 8 / 10
Superman Returns: I loved it! If you haven't seen it, go... NOW! 9 / 10 for me. Terrific acting, amazing sound, touching plot. Don't compare to the firsts, 'cause it's in a league of it's own.
Skeleton Key: A good suspense / horror movie. Wonderful acting by all involved (Especially Kate Hudson, Gena Rowlands and John Hurt) with a brand new twist. A personal favorite of both my wife and myself. 9 / 10
Nacho Libre: 10 / 10. Laughed from the opening credits to the closing call. I will buy it as soon as it is released. Jack Black at his best.
Remember the Titans: Had to watch it to get a real football movie from Friday Night Lights This film sets the bar on sports flicks in my mind. Hoosiers is the only other sports movie that comes close. 9 / 10
Just Cause: I picked this up at Wally world for $4.88. Well worth the buy. First-rate plot, and I love Sean Connery and Laurence Fishburne. Both played their roles and never made you doubt the story. Ed Harris is in rare form in this film, and really creeps you out. Go pick it up if you haven't seen it yet. 7 / 10
Panic Room: I was actually surprised by Panic Room. I had never seen it before, and blind bought it for cheap for the dts. Wasn't really excited to see it, but was pleasantly shocked!!! It was actually very well done and directed. Suspenseful, taut, and fine acting. Good SQ as well. Jodie Foster was top notch, and you felt the panic. Ha. 7 / 10 for me.
X-Files: Fight the Future: Oldie but Goldie. I was a huge fan of the series when it was on TV and they really did an outstanding job of adapting this project for the big screen. Even if you aren't a fan of the TV show, rent this one. Great SQ, and good special effects and acting. Little green men are out there 7 / 10
Dave: Finally found it on DVD a few months ago. I had the old VHS but no player! What a good fun film. Kevin Kline rocks, and though she ain't killing aliens Sigourney Weaver completes the film. Plenty of humor, with a dash of drama. A must buy if you can find it. 8 / 10.
AVP: Alas, no Sigourney in this show, but Sanaa Lathan (Out of time, Blade) filled her shoes adequately. Not the strongest plot, but admit it, who watches Alien for a plot? Plenty of action and violence to please even the hard-core fans. Terrific SQ as well. 6 / 10.
Underworld: Evolution: Wow. Wow wow wow. Coming from a HUGE fan of the first show, it should come as no surprise that I absolutely loved this sequel. I saved the best for last, and boy oh boy... it surpassed all of my wildest fantasies... well all but one of course Back on track. Stupendous movie, out of this world SQ and PQ. A must own for even the smallest fan of Vampires vs. Werewolves. 9 / 10 here... with it pushing a 10 / 10 limit.

I haven't seen Annapolis, POTC2,Superman or Nacho Libre but as far as the other ones I cannot argue with you assesments. Very good job!!! I took my 14 year old daughter to see The devil wears prada and as far as chick flicks is concern is not half bad. So guys if its the mrs. turn to pick the movie this one might keep you awake!

Here's a funny moment form Hellboy I just couldn't believe:
He's drug down the railroad tracks, head beating against the tracks, and he's ok.
Later, they are stitching his arm and he goes "OUCH." I found that kinda funny, the tracks didn't hurt, but the stitches did.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

He was such a cry baby. I loved it! Big and macho, then he's on the roof eating the cookies and milk with the boy, whining about losing the girl. It really struck a funny bone in myself! Laughed the entire film practically.Honoured to be, an original SOPA founding member

The Devil Wears Prada is worth watching if nothing other than the fact that you get to watch Anne Hathaway for two hours.
