So the upgrade bug has hit again and I need to move some amps. Two out of Three of my Mcintosh amps are being gone through right now so I will post pics when I can. The Sunfire is here as well as a MC7106. The list is as follows:

1. Sunfire 400x5 the earlier version not 425x5. SOLD TO CFRIZZ (Pending Payment)
This amp has some scratches on the top from the previous owner and the bulb is out right now. I have some spares somewhere that I will attempt to find and include, but Sunfire sends these out for free usually.

Very nice playing amp for music or movies. I was using 4 of the chanels to bi-wire my mains till I replaced it with the MC2500, then this was on surround duty. Original Box and packing, not sure about the manual.

*******UPDATE RE: Sunfire********

So I was browsing for the manual for the series one and found that the binding posts on the 405x5 is reversed from the 425x5 amps. The amp I am selling has the reversed posts which would make it a Series II (425x5). I will call sunfire today and see if they can verify by the serial number. Sorry for the confusion.

Cinema Grand Signature 405~5

Cinema Grand Signature II 425~5

2. McIntosh MC7106 100x6 or 300x3 $1600.00 8.5/10

MANUAL

I havn't used this amp much. I have owned of for probably 6-9 months. I did hook it up once but I liked the Sunfire better. I think there is a bulb out as well. Solid McIntosh amp, good mutizone or surround amp. Original Mac double box with manual etc.

3. McIntosh MC2300 300x2 $1200.00 7.5/10

I was using this to biamp my mains along with the MC2500. It has gain controls as well as the lovely Mac Blue Meters. I was getting some noise out of the right channel so that's why this is in the shop for that and cleaning.

ATTN: This amp wieghts about 129 lbs, so with packing it's pushing the 150 limit of FedEx. I would prefer someone to pick this amp up in LA at the shop or I can possible deliver it from LA to Central California.

4. Mcintosh MC2500 500x2 $1700.00 7/10

I really like this amp but upgrade time it is. Has Powerguard and the rest you could research and find out. There is alot of info on the net about these. It is only in the shop for a cleaning. Never have had any problems with it.

Same story as the 2300 for weight, so same rules apply.

The repair shop doing the work on the Macs is an authorized center and they do top notch work. I drive 12 hours round trip to them so rest assured the last two amps will be in top working condition when they are available. The 2300 andd 2500 should be ready in the next few weeks or so.

Thanks for looking and let me know if I can answer any questions you couldn't find answers for from Google or something.

Brad

Update 08/14/07

So here are a few pics that I could find. As I said these amps are in LA. I am fairly sure I could get them packed by the shop and shipped but I will not be making that drive in the immediate future.

I am sorry that I was not more prepared with pics, Dave brought this thread alive when he emailed me about the 7106 which is here and I could ship. I think it may have a burnt out bulb but that's not really anything seroius.

If someone is really interested in one of these amps I will do what I can to make arrangements, but please no tire kickers as time is fairly precious to me.

Kind regards,

Brad

I believe around 50lbs. I will try and get some pics up by tonight. Here's the manual for the version II. Notice it's 425 per channel were-as mine is the 405 wpc version.

    Holly Crap Brad,

You have some nice equipment Mac makes for some nice sound and good looks with the meters glowing that's for sure. What are you looking to replace it with? Hopefully the sale goes good someone is in for a treat.

Thanks Dave, I spend way too much money on this hobby but it's alot of fun for me. I have replaced the Mac's with a Krell TAS for the mains and everything else is being driven by a Halcro MC50.

If it wasn't fun we wouldn't be doing it that's for sure (my wife is just begining to look the other way with the price of the stuff). Looks like you made some nice choices with the replacements, real nice stuff. Good luck with the sale, hopefully someone grabs these.

CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I've been through 6 or 7 sets of SDA's. SRS's, 1.2's and some 1B's. I loved them all. The girlfriend is happier with other speakers in the living room is all I'll say.

Polks are fine speakers and there are alot of fine speakers out there to be had. My experience is limited in the speaker dept. but I am sure I will always have at least a pair or two of Polks around.

Thanks for the nice compliment re:the gear.

From an original price of around 34-3500.00 down to 1750.00! This is an amp that I would have only been able to dream about owning in my lifetime!

Carl, once I recover from this expenditure, I will start saving again & keep my eye on getting probably an Outlaw 990! That is unless I get an outstanding deal on another high end prepro!

    Cathy,

I'd keep my eye open for a Sunfire pre/pro......can be found pretty reasonable.

The only one you might see would be my Outlaw 200 monoblock. My Parasound is going down to my brother to power his LSI 7's!

If someone is interested in the Outlaw, just let me know.

I am glad you like it. I would be curious how it compares to the Outlaw and what your immediate observations are. When I get a new amp it usually takes me some listening to get used to the new sound.

    Enjoy Cathy,

Well I immediately noticed my rear speakers more since they are getting all of that power to them. As for the front stage, I'm really not noticing a difference since they were being fed lots of power already. They were crystal clear with 200 wpc & they are crystal clear with 400 wpc.

Which leads me to believe that good power is good power whether it comes from Outlaw, Parasound or Sunfire. Give your speaker enough of it & they will SING!!!

    Thanks a million Brad!
