New Vs. Old -- LSi
I need to know how big a deal it would be if I paired old LSi speakers with the new ones in a 5.1 or 7.1 system. I was reading the manual on my LSiC (new version), and it seemed to poo poo doing that. How big of a deal is it really, and will it screw things up? I'm getting close to purcasing either some LSi9, or LSi15.
Sorry if this has been covered before, but I turned up nothing in a search.
Thanks!

See Tour's response in the thread below. At one of the PF, Stu from Polk said the change was cosmetic only.
That has been my understanding all along too. If you do an advanced search Lsi+new you will get more hits along the same lines.
Are you keeping the fronts all the same at least or will the center be the new one? I think you'll be okay.

That would be correct.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

I'm not even using my LSiC right now. I'm still using my CSi40. I'm going to move the LSiC in when I get LSi15s or the LSi9 (I plan on getting both in the end) and will live without surrounds until then.
I just wanted to know so that if I see someone selling them I don't have to gripe over new vs old. It's nice to know it doesn't matter.
Thanks for both of your responses. -
+1 on the belief that there were no driver or xover changes.-Ignorance is strength -
