Is this a good 1080P product offering from Samsung? I'm thinking about a total upgrade and this looks pretty cool to me.

Negative. It's $8k and the native resolution is still just 1366 x 768.

No Samsung plasmas have 1920x1080 at the moment, and they just refreshed their lines. No sense in buying something for that much money that isn't top quality.
If it absolutely must be a plasma then I would go with one of the new pioneers about to hit the streets in 3 weeks. They're not on their website yet but they are supposed to look amazing and the new elites are going to be 1080p. It'll look a lot better than a Samsung too. -
The reason I'm looking at Samsung is that I have a business acquantence that can grab me one at cost. So I guess I'm searching for the best they have to offer...***WAREMTAE***

Well the brand new 50" that they just released has a damn good picture even though it's only 1080i.

Haven't seen any plans for them to do a new 60. -
Good I am happy to derail you Henry, you need an effin TV like you need a another hole in your head, get some more good audio stuff from Russ, its about time for some more cool tube gear or speakers or Turntable or wire, anything, but an effin TV for 1080P all you can do is look at it, you cant close your eyes and hear those tones and have them get you all woody as so on. Blasphamy, what your not even considering putting the effin thing in the Bomb Shelter.
Next thing you will have Videogon on your favorites anything past 480P/1080i is wasted audio dough!!

Yes the idea of an LCD that big is cool. The pixelation in real life is another matter.
