2-channel bookshelf speakers

Hey Guys,

I am looking to pull the trigger on some bookshelf speakers for a 2-channel setup. Right now, I am looking at the LSi9's but also saw some Tannoy Eyris 1's that look good and are a great price used.

Anyone have experience with the two? I would consider others. The LSi9s appeal to me based on sound quality, looks, availability, and favorable reviews. . . while the Tannoy's look just as good, are easier to drive, have just as good low extension (number-wise, haven't heard them yet), and I can get a really good deal on a local pair right now.

Let me know your thoughts, if you have any. I would go towers, but room and budget are a little tight. My electronics will be B&K Pro 10-MC pre, B&K St-202 amp (150 @8, 200@4), Pioneer Elite Dv-59avi source.

Thanks!

Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850

Listen to as many as you can! Others you might consider in the same price range (new or used) as the LSi9's:

Paradigm Reference 20 v3 (I just bought these)
    Totem Rainmakers
    EPOS 12.2
    Dynaudio 42 & 52

There's a lot of bookshelf monitors in the $600 to $1k range, and a lot of good ones. The LSi9's just didn't have the characteristics I was looking for when it comes to music. For HT or combo HT/Music I think the LSi are a great choice.

Hell, look into the Klipsch RB-75's. Sure they're recently discontinued but they're still around here and there. You never know, you just might like a totally different sound with your tastes.
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

I would recommend going on a trek to see if you can still find a pair of Sonus Faber Concerto Home speakers out there somewhere. They've been discontinued in favor of the new Domus series, but the old concertos were exceptional, large monitor speakers with a good deal of bass for the size, and of course that Sonus Faber elegance. Actually sounded quite good mated with a B&K amp in my experience, too.
Magnolia Audio/Video may still have pair, perhaps even floor models, that could probably be had for under $1000, or maybe a bit more, but it still a significant savings on their original MSRP.
The Lsi 9's would be a great choice too. Probably not a better overall speaker in that price range.
I would also recommend looking at some Vienna Acoustics Bach Grands. They are floor standing, but very small ones, sort of like a Tannoy, with a tweet and a one driver. Bass response is excellent for the size, and the sound is similar to a monitor due to driver array. $2000/pr.
    Current System:

Mitsubishi 30" LCD LT-3020 (for sale**)
Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Concert Grand (Rosewood)-Mains (with Audioquest Mont Blanc cables)
    CSi5-Center (for sale**)
    FXi3-surrounds (for sale**)
    Martin Logan Depth-Sub
    B&K AVR 507
    Pimare CD21-CD Player
    Denon 1815-DVD Player
    Panamax M5500-EX-Line Conditioner

Thanks for all of the good ideas. I have some time before I have to buy so I will certainly try to audition some of them. Going to listen to the Tannoy Eyris 1's tomorrow but am already a little skeptical based on reviews I've read.

    Thanks again.
