Location of FX3

Hello, what is the best place to put the FX3. Should they be ear level or above. I currently am leaning towards a 5.1 set-up and my main sitting area is right up against a wall. I was thinking of hanging the FX3 at ear level on teh wall but on the "Outside" of the couch, so that they are not right behind the listners, they will kinda be off to either side. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

3-4 feet above the listening position, on the side walls.
Set to dipole mode for me, but you might prefer bipolar, which gives a more localized sound.
