Bi-wired but no separation?

Okay, looks like I need somebody to enlighten me on the subject of "biwiring". I've bi-wired my LSi25's.......I think! I removed the jumper plates, and have two runs of speaker wire from each of the L and R speaker outs of the amp. However, when I connect the first cable to the top (tweeter?) set of inputs on the speakers it appears to still be driving the tweeters, mids and woofer......i.e. like I hadn't removed the metal jumpers. Connecting the second cable to the bottom inputs doesn't make a discernible difference. If I disconnect the tops and leave only the bottom inputs connected there's no sound from the speaker at all. Doesn't matter which of the cables I connect to the top inputs, so I know they're both drawing from the amp. What am I missing here?

You're probably hearing mid-bass notes...you should be fine.

Not sure I understand what you mean by that.......It's not that I think I'm missing any notes. I'm hearing the full range, but it's apparently totally driven by the first set of binding posts, not split between the two sets.

Now I'm wondering, since pulling out the low-pass bi-wire connection doesn't seem to make any difference, if it's even possible to conventionally bi-wire a powered tower. Maybe the second set of binding posts are for the sub, not the customary low-pass?

The "manual" that comes with the LSi25 is really poor. It's interesting, too......the downloadable PDF version has a paragraph dealing with bi-wiring/bi-amping (indicating that it can be done), but the copy that came with the speakers is a slightly different version with no mention of bi-wire/bi-amp. ??

(Update: One more thing, then I'll shut up. My LSiC performs as expected when bi-wired......top posts control the tweeter, bottom the mids. Must be a powered tower thing, for sure.)

    That is correct.
