All right fellas (and ladies) this game officially rocks. I know you are saying, "Ping-Pong"...yeah right! But it does, in fact it blows Top Spin 2 clean out of the water.

And there are some nice, very subtle references to GTA in it. At first I did not catch it, but then after a while it dawned on me. Will not spoil the drama.

To be fair, I'll expand. The game is great. The graphics are beyond what I could ever have expected. Fabulous. The motion and physics are incredible. The play is awesome. But, at the end of the day, you are playing video game ping pong. For the same price you could almost buy a real table and play real table tennis. As great as the game was, I just could not get passed this. I mean, the amount of vids I play is pretty nerdy/geeky/pathetic, but even this just didn't sit right with me. Its worth checking out anyways.

The price for it in the store around me is $40. Don't know if that means anything or not. I was pretty sure all XBox 360 games were $60 no matter what.

Not all are. I know Top Spin 2 is also $40. Not sure if MLB 2k6 was $40 again this year or not.

I thought they dropped the price due to low sales, but that all hit the market at $60, no? Either way, I'm surprised Rock Star games went that route. I'm sure they don't want to be pigeonholed by the GTA series, but they're the God's of games like that. I want them to expand on the power of the 360 and make another GTA like game, but even more comprehensive than San Adreas was.

Aren't they off the hook from Sony with that series now or not? I know contractural agreements wouldn't allow them to release on other platforms until after a year.

Right, that contract is no longer in effect. If the next GTA beats PS3 to the shelves it will be a 360 exclusive.

Hmm, looks like the next GTA is coming out for both XBox 360 and PS3 in October of 2007: Official Website

See...would I lie Demi? Did you catch any GTA references yet? If so share with us...I would tell but I want to see if anyone else noticed it.

Also the game was a 40 dollar release...lets be honest...I think 60 dollars is stretching it for ping Pong.

Hmm, I didn't catch any just yet. I haven't played it a whole lot. I've been playing LOTRs a lot more.

I will say that I found something very amusing about the characters though. The French guy had me cracking up as I was kicking his **** in one of the matches.

Hahaha, I played this in FYE this afternoon with a friend. I certainly wouldn't buy it, but we had a ton of fun for about 30 minutes with it in store. Ive played other table tennis games and this has certainly been the best.

Would still rather play the real thing though....this isnt like madden.

A friend of mine said he read a review and they were saddened by the fact that it was a Rockstar game and it was so 'appropriate'. Essentially they stated they wanted beer pong to be included......and I certainly wouldnt have complained about that.

Well if you are losing and you listen closely to the crowd you will certainly hear their wrath.

As for some small tidbits related to grand theft auto, well it relates to the third game mostly as to one of the first places you play is "Liberty City H.S." at first I did not get it, but I found it to be a nice touch from RStar.
