Dts - H/k 635

I bought the Eagles Farewell Tour DVD, and the first opportunity to play a DTS disk. ...BUT....
I chose DTS 5.1 sound in the audio setup of the disk. My DVD player says "DTS" on the display when I play the disk, but the only DTS surround modes that I can get the 635 to play are the silly NEO modes. What am I doing wrong? Something on the H/K set wrong? I am connected by an optical interconnect.
My DVD player is a JVC, but it is supposed to be capable of decoding DTS.

Try hitting the DTS button on the remote. Also, maybe you have to select DTS in the DVD disk menu? I had to do that when I watched War of the Worlds on DVD (DTS mode).

try going into the os menu and making sure the "Default" audio setting is set to off.
I use Dolby VS Wide and Logic 7 for everything, yet when the default audio setting is set to on (from the factory), all I get is Dolby Digital, DTS, and or DPL II depending on the source. -
I finally got it. On my P.O.S. DVD player, you can either output Stream/PCM (for DTS) or Dolby Digital/PCM. So, if I wan't to use DTS when I can, I have to go into the damn setup of my DVD player.
The sound of this DVD is f-ing awesome, by the way.

The Farewell 1 Tour DVD is decent, but a little harsh on the top end IMO, even on tubes - if you really want an eargasm pick up their Hell Freezes Over DVD. I've started listening to them in PCM though, as the 2 channel soundstage and depth is greatDodd Audio ELP [ Tubes ] // Harman Kardon AVR330 // Parasound HCA-1203A // Denon DVD-2900

Thats one thing I don't understand is why you have to actually go into the dvd menu to turn on dts. Why can't it just be switched on when you buy the dvd player? Its not that is that hard to turn it on, just a little annoying.AVR: H/K AVR240

Tommyboy,
If you have any extra cash lying around, get some t20eb's from tweeter.com for $80/pair and use them as your surrounds. They are better (IMO) than the R15s, especially since you have Monitor fronts. Retail was like $200/pair.
You can then use the R15 for surround backs or in another room. The T20ebs are the same as the monitor 30 bookshelfs, only slightly better looking.
The Phil Collins Finally First Farewell Tour DVD has a good DTS track.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

I actually found out that if I have the output of the DVD player set to "Stream and PCM rather than "Dolby Digital and PCM" that DTS or Dolby Digital will either play. So, not sure why the DVD player has the "Dolby Digital and PCM" option. Doesn't make sense. Gotta get my hands on that Hell Freezes Over DVD though. Love the Farewell Tour DVD.HT

does the disc say DTS - DVD-audio? if so... you may need 6 analog RCA connectors to listen to it.. and a DVD-audio player.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
