Im pretty set on buying a Polk Lsi 7.1 system.
15s, C, FXs, 9s, SVS Plus/2

A neighbor of mine is purchasing an Axiom system around the same price range. http://www.axiomaudio.com/epic80_600main.html#

Anyone know about these speakers? Which system is better?

    Apples and oranges.

If you're gonna do a comparison, Axiom should be compared to the RTi series, not Lsi.
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I totally agree with the exception of the Epic 600 powered subwoofer. It is absolutely stunning. Guess I will just have to stick with my Mirage S12.....imho it is also amazing. Have a great day people.:) :)
The way one uses a product is a much more SIGNIFICANT factor than which product(s) he uses.

I disagree...Axioms should be compared to the Monitor series....they are extremely bright speakers....Monitors are probabily built better too...

    Let's see:

Laminate, bright speakers with cheap drivers and foam-bordered ports

    or

Laquer finished wood cabinets with ring radiator tweeters and a much better build quality.

    Hmm?

Sorry, it may be a bit biased but the LSi are a much better speaker line. The tweeter alone is quite apart from tweeters in that price range, and more akin to higher end speakers. The LSi are much more musical, open and warm, and would offer better dynamics for theater experiences as well. I say go LSi and don't get suckered in by a crap company's superior advertising. Ever heard of Bose? Have you ever actually heard music played from them? One of the most disparate examples in all of electronics: Extremely popular due to marketing, but pretty damn terrible in quality.

Only thing: if you want to get great performance out of the LSi's treat them to good amplification and speaker cables. If you're going Denon 3806 and Monster XP cables, don't waste your money on great speakers, cause they won't sound great.

When you can buy a speaker with 3 drivers (two of which are midbasses), that is also a decent size and it STILL weighs under 20 pounds...

SOMETHING should send up red flags.

Can't speak on the sound of the Axioms, but the LSi's will look way way better, way better built, and sound great. They're an incredible bargain at used prices if you can snag 'em.

    No reason to correct...

That one speaker in particular speaks of Axiom's build quality through out the entire line up.

    Cheap finishes, cheap everything.

Axiom is known for a few things...

    1) Thin enclosures (alot of resonance)
    2) bright sound
    3) Cheap finishes and overall build...
    4) extremely cheap drivers....

Lsi's all the way. Just make sure you have the proper amplification for these.
They're 4 ohms and need alot of clean power (usually over 150 watts per channel from a well designed high amperage amplifier will do nicely).
