Firefox question

Of those that use Firefox, have y'all ever experienced intermittent page up and down functionality on some websites? I haven't had the problem until the past few months, and have tried a reload to no avail. I also can't find any information about this particular problem anywhere. It's not always the same site that has the problem, so occasionally one site has the problem, then later it doesn't.

Any thoughts?

Have had the same problem intermittently - just recently again and every time when I uninstall and re-install my Zone Alarm firewall it always fixes it. Don't know what setting I mess up but it always seems to work. Don't know if it helps but it's my two cents.

You sure it might not be a memory problem?

For instance, mine does it on MECA's website but on my dad's computer which has a lot more memory and faster processor, its smooth as silk. Maybe a good excuse to buy something new!! :D

I dunno bro, I tend to think its something other than Firefox. Like I said, I had the same problem on some sites and when I switched back to IE, I still had the same problems.

Might be something with the macromedia or flash sites (or whatever the hell their called).

Go here and try some of the pages and see if its jumpy. This is one of the sites that gives me fits so if it does the same for you then its probably not Firefox. (You can also scroll down and to the right and see that Im 3rd in points :D )

I can page up/down and arrow up/down on that page. It's intermittent on what sites it does it on, and irritates the hell outta me.......we'll see.

Does it happen when you click on the middle button and then move your mouse in the direction you want to scroll? Perchance does the little scrolling icon go over a moving advertisement?

For some reason, firefox really hates doing that and will jump erratically around the page when you do it.

I'm using a touchpad mouse, and really the way I go up or down on a page is my page up/down buttons integrated on my 10key.

Have you downloaded all of the plug ins for Firefox?Like Java,Macromedia Flash Player,Adobe Acrobat Reader,Real Player,Windows Media Player and Apple Quick time?If you already had these programs prior to downloading Firefox, then you need to get the plug ins so that you can surf the web on Firefox without any problems. The versions that you already had are for Internet Explorer and will not work properly with Firefox.

I've downloaded them all and the only one that doesn't work is the WMP. I can't get it to properly install and have given up trying to make that one work.

Which version of Firefox are you using? There are currently two available.Firefox1.5.0.4 and Firefox Bon Echo 2.0 Alpha 3.Which is a prerelease Beta version. If you are not running the latest version of Firefox.Try one of those two.I have both. You can go to www.majorgeeks.com to get them and a host of other great programs.
