Amp choice advice

Thanks to all for your time and advice, it is much appreciated. The next question is how to listen to different amps. Going to stores and listening to their products with their speakers, will this be comparable to the same amps with SDAs? And I seem to be limited to a few specialty high-end audio stores, the big box stores don't have anything high-end.

I think I have guessed that part of this journey is trial and error. It's why you see people selling used equipment because they found something they liked better.

Most high end shops will let you try an amp or any piece of gear at home with your credit card as security.Political Correctness'.........defined

I have a friend that is into audio and lives nearby. We have swapped gear between us to try in our environment. The other paths are as F1nut suggested, or you buy used gear at fair prices and resell if you don't like it. The latter suggestion adds complexity and risk of course.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *
