rti8 question
I've purchased the csi5 center speaker, I'm still having a problem hearing the dialogue sometimes. I'm still running my sony dreamsystems front and surround speakers, soon to replace with polk. My question is.. when i replace my sony fronts with the polk rti8's, will that help improve the dialogue??

Well, the L/R are more for glass shattering, music within the movie, wind blowing, that sort of thing, with very little dialogue. The center channel is where all the dialogue comes from. When the L/C/R is timbre-matched they all blend together in what's called your front "soundstage". When in your sweet spot it sounds like all 3 speakers have dialogue, but when you actually put your ear to each individual speaker you'll find only the center channel has dialogue.
Another thing, on your AVR or pre-pro, whatever you have, double-check your calibrations and you might find your center is turned down too low, or your fronts are turned up too high.
Hope that helps!Don't forget to look at My Home Theater

I have the CSi5 which succeeded the LSiC as the center channel in my HT. The CSi5 cleared up all the dialog clarity issues and I doubt you can do better in that respect. Make sure you do level calibrations and then, if necessary, feel free to boost the center's level a couple of db. As far as your L/R, it's worth getting the RTi8s but they shouldn't impact the dialog much.Multichannel Music:
