Peter Gammons, the baseball columnist, suffered a brain aneurism and is currently in surgery. Don't know if anyone cares, but he's a pretty well-loved columnist, especially amongst Sox fans in New England, but even around the country, any baseball fan probably knows him. He gave one of the greatest induction speeches of all time when he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Hope he pulls through.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Wow, sad to hear. Always enjoyed his reporting. They had him on Sunday night baseball this year. I hope he pulls through.

That sucks. I love Gammons. One of the rare sports writers that doesn't have his head completely up his ****.

Gammons is great, Hope all is well. Seems like an old school reporter. We need more of them and not so many jocks telling us how great they were.

Yea, Dibble is on my list. There are others. I don't know when we got away from commentators that could paint you a picture with their words and describe the scene with context and perpective. Now all we get is "When I played" comments all damn night. As usual I realize that I am in the minority and most people like their jocks recycled but then again most people like Bob Saget. I rest my case.:D
