Help With Downloading....ASAP

I'm attempting to download the Bet version of Office 2007. When I first started trying, the site was down for actually downloading Office, so I started downloading the peripheral programs. Now that it's up again so I can download Office, I have a small program.

When I started downloading everything, I naturally saved it in My Documents on my C: (system) drive. (One physical drive, two logistical drives.) Pretty soon, I got a warning that C was filling up...and fast! Total size for C is 5gb, and it had less than a gig left. So, I deleted everything from My Documents and started saving it all to D, which has a total of 22 some odd free gigs.

Well, not long into that, I got the same message again. So, I checked to see how much space I had free on C. Not much. Then I checked again within seconds (as I was downloading a file), and it had even less. I finally stopped the process.

So, my question is, why would the free space on C be getting smaller and smaller, if I'm downloading these files to D? And I've searched manually for these files on C and can't find them, and whenever I use their file names to have my computer search, they only come up on D.

What's going on here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you're downloading them via Internet Explorer then you're downloading to two places.

Internet Explorer always downloads your file to a temporary directory on your main drive (usually C) and then moves it to where you wanted it to go.

Try using Opera or Firefox. That or you could possibly use some sort of download manager.

Ooh, great information. Thank you very much!!

I am indeed using IE, since everytime I try to do something on Microsoft's website with another browser, it says I have to use IE. I'll see if I can't figure something out, now that I know what's going on.

    Thanks a bunch!

    No problem :)

There might be a registry edit or something to make IE download directly to a directory.

Just in case you were wondering, it downloaded just fine after I deleted the temporary files. I'm installing it right now.

    Thanks!
