I've seen several threads where Quicktime is bashed. What is so bad about it?

    It's an intrusive program.

How and where does it intrude? Are you talking spyware? Does it have malicious qualities? Can it inflict damage to existing system or aftermarket software I may have installed? Anyone care to expand on the comment? Thanks!

I have no idea about Spyware, and nor can I comment on whether or not it can cause problems.

What I do know is it's very hard to get a good custom install of Quicktime. It usualy slams you with iTunes, which can severely screw up all of your MP3 tags (and I keep around 10,000 on my PC) if you're not careful. It will also put stuff into your process list, and system tray. It's also not easy to get rid of.

Things may have changed over the years and I might be talking out of my **** now, but I refuse to use QuickTime on my home PC.

It's just not user friendly, much like Real Player.
