Caps?

I get the impression on this board that people are against using capacitors. Why is this? :confused:

    Alot of the time they are a band-aid solution to the problem. I also think that they are usually not needed. I had a system with over a kilowatt RMS of power and never used one.


    Doing the Big 3 first would be more beneficial.

    basically what he said. 99% of the time caps are used improperly. The big 3 is about $100 cheaper and works about the same. Another battery(or just replacing the stock one) would be much more beneficial and you can get a red top for about $30 more than a 1 F cap

    If you do decide to use a capacitor, make sure you find one with a very low ESR.

    Before thinking of using a cap, invest and research in the big 3, a very simple upgrade in wiring can help with your electrical system.
