Hi Everybody,
Contact through posting only, I rarely ever check my PMs. I will also try my best to ship as fast as possible but I work 7:15 to 4:45 M-T and my work is 45mins from my home, so I would not be able to ship until Friday. These are used in a smoke free and pet free home, were never abused, and only used by one person. Paypal is the prefered method of payment, and for feedback check Audiogon under Gaara, and Ebay under Gaara_925 (don't sell much).
I purchased my Gallo Ref 3.1s back in December, and these speakers have been sitting in a hallway covered in a blanket ever since. I am not sure why I didn’t sell them before, I guess I just never had the time. So because of my Gallos I am selling off my Lsi9s and I am also selling of my Lsi Center. The center no longer has a use in my system because I am now using a phantom center with the Gallos and love it. The 9s come with the original box and manual (hole punched), but not the original packaging. The center has the original manual (hole punched), but not the original box or packaging. The stands don’t have much with them…sorry. All of these items will be packaged well and insurance will be purchased. As for pricing and PICTURES (all pictures were taken beginning of June):
Lsi 9s $550 shipped
Lsi Center $300 shipped
Skylan Stands $125 shipped
Now there are a few variables with these speakers to address before I go further.
First one of the speakers has a cut in it, it is the right speakers and it is on the left side. It happened when I moved my Cinenova onto my flexy, I misjudged the size of that beast and ended up hitting my poor little 9. I posted a picture on my webshots here of the damage, I tried to fix it using a gaurdmaster pen, which helped, until I grabbed the wrong pen and left a little dark mark on the cabinet. Detailed pics just follow the link, I will also include the gaurdmaster pens, hopefully the buyer is better at using them then me.
Second variable is that I tried using my center speaker with the grille covers and didn't like the sound as much as having them off. Well I realized it was because of the tweeter, so I cut out a hole for the tweeters in the grille cover. So now I have a grille cover with a hole where the tweeter is. If the buyer wants I can leave the grille as is, or redo the grille with acoustically transparent grille cloth fabric I got from parts express.
Third variable is good, I did some modifications a while back on my 9s, center, and supernova, which turned out well. Basically I added dynamat extreme to the inside of the cabinet, as well as the baskets themselves. I have a link here to where I talk about it all. I also felted the tweeters in all three speakers with positive results. I will post close up pics here.
I also have custom made matching stands for my 9s, they are 33in high and have a top plate that perfectly matches the bottom of the 9s. They are Skylan Stands and are very well reviewed online. I paid $225 for them and will sell them for $125. They have a few minor white scuff marks (less then 1”) on them but the way they are configured you can turn the posts with the marks in and never see the scuffs. These were purchased June 2004.
As for the speakers I am asking $550 for the pair of Lsi 9s and $300 for the Lsi Center. The pricing is taking into consideration the aesthetic damage to the 9s and the grille for the center. I am also factoring in all of the tweaking that I did, which for me did make a noticeable improvement in sound quality. These were all purchased September 2003.
If anyone is local I will drive up to 100 miles on a weekend to sell these. I will also entertain a package deal for someone who is local.

PM me if you get no interest on this. There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

It's really hard to beat Gaara's modded LSi 9's. Most bookshelf speakers are a lateral movement where they beat the LSi 9's for some things and falter for others. The thing that kills you about the LSi 9 is power. It just eats it up! My brother is running his LSi9 with a pair of Adcom GFA-555's running as bridged monoblocks.
Now that I have a new subwoofer (Outlaw LFM-1), I don't need the LSi 9's legendary bass anymore, and I'd definitely consider selling it to move to a bookshelf with better detail/imaging at the expense of bass output. -
Alan, thanks for chiming in. If you do find speakers with better detail/imaging let me know, I would be interested in buying back my 9s to replace the 7s I have now. The 7s are great but I don't use a sub in the system and the mods really did improve on things.
-
Gaara, what kind of modifications did you do to your LSi9's?
-
Look ^ in the add, lots of info + a link. Sparknotes version: Felted the tweeters and dynamat on the interiors, driver baskets, and x-over.
-
Thanks Gaara. Nice mods!
Anyways, if you ever decide to sell your speaker stands again, let me know, because my 9's are sitting on a bookshelf right now, I want first dibs on those stands.;)
