Center channel or not.....?????

So my HT is made up of the following....1.2TLs (fr and fl), CS350 (c), LS/FX (sr and sl) and RT800i (sbr and sbl). While this does give a nice listening experience for movies, I do notice that the CS350 center doesn't match well to the 1.2TLs. I am in the process of locating a CS5 to replace the center, but until then I was wondering if it would be best to leave the center as is, or remove it from my Denon 5803a and let the 1.2TLs take over. So is it better to have a center that doesn't match 100%, or run without it?

Thanks!

Robert

IMO, match it up. I would personally not want to watch movies without one. Music is another story of course.

My goal is to get my hands on a CSI5 that will match the 1.2TLs. Until then, I was wondering if running with no center was better than with a CS350 that was not a match. I guess the more I think about it, I see a center that is not a match being better than no center at all. Is that what you are writing?

    Thanks!

Do you watch alone...or with other people?

Funny you should ask. I do watch with others, but I only care about me and sitting in the "sweet spot." I set my RS on a tri-pod pointing up in the center position when I calibrated. When I watch a movie, I sit in the center if the movie has a good soundtrack (ig. good surround). Otherwise, I sit in the seat just to the right as it reclines. Sitting center means sitting upright.

Just got a new CSi5 for $279. Good price. It should be here by the end of next week. I'll probably put the CS350 on ebay, or stick it in the closet in case I'll ever need it (I'm kind of a packrat). :)

    Thanks for you input!
