Hi, everybody! Any comments about this system would be appreciated.

the 6800´s. Actually I´m waiting to arrive and crazy to test this units.
Anybody here has listen the 6800? It´s really so good for music???

Thanks.

Hi Brett, I live in Argentina, and I don´t had a chance to listen this system here. I know the name Polk and I´ve listen other speakers like RM6000, RTI6, RTI8 and really like them. I know, that is not comparable but took a risk.
So, after thinking a lot and looking for my room that is 5m x 4m, and reading a lot of reviews including a very good CNET´s review, I´ll go for this system. I hope that the system to be great, I´m so ansious to receive them and compare to my old system and can say: WOW like the reviews stated in this site. :))
    Did you listen to RM6800?

    Well, this is my story.
    Best Regards

Hi everybody! Quite happy with system, Diana Krall´s DVD Live in Paris was so beautiful!!!. Even in low volume. I´m in the first tests and looking for the best HOOK UP METHOD for the sub :) . For now, I just tried left RCA input method and really like it. Then I´ll try "Y adaptor" and "speaker level cable".

Does anybody know if this kind of systems needs to be broken in??

    Thanks.

All new speakers have a break in. Play them for about 25 hours at moderate volumes.

Welcome to the club, and enjoy your new set.

I have the 6800s hooked to my Onkyo 603. For this setup I prefered using the subout instead of the "Polk Method" for my subwoofer, which I thought as better for movies LFE. Using the Onkyo's auto setup, it set my crossover to 125 (per response from Polk.)
Do a search as there were several threads discussing these options last fall - http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34881

Somebody here tells that the crossover in this systems is fixed at 150. So setting at 125, Don´t you think that would exist a hole of 25 hz?

Now the issue is sub placement. My only choice is beside the rear wall at the any ends of my couch. Really, the better place is the end near a corner but the woofer will fire very near of the adjacent wall. !?
Does anybody have any recommendations about settings for better performance in this scenario?

Very difficult to find a setting that works well on movies and different kind of music. I need a lot of tweaks to sound well every time that I play any source.
I´d like to find out a solution for all!! Sub placement is very important.

Does anybody know if would be a good idea to hang up the sub on the wall???I´m seeing that I have a good space of wall behind the fronts, at 6´ from the
    floor.

i don't think its a good idea to hang your sub, let alone any sub from the wall. try placing the sub up front in a corner and play around with it in certain areas on the floor

I ran a sub behind my couch for quite awhile, it worked very well for me, it was surprising the guest because there was no sub to be seen in the room. I guess like it has been said, just keep experimenting.
