Polkfolk-
I'm running monster sub cable to my psw450's.
In the packaging there are a couple of y's, which would
split the signal and allow me to plug into both the red and white
jacks instead of just the line in.
Is this a better way to do it?
What do you think Ken S.?

Hello,
Thanks for contributing to the Forum. The goal is to filter the audio signal only once, either the receiver or the sub-woofer. If you wish to use the receiver's sub-out, this is a filtered signal, there isn't any need to do anything more. If the signal is fed to the LFE input on the PSW450 it will by-pass any further filtering and get sent to the bass amplifier and on to the woofer. If, on the other hand, you would prefer a different low pass filter frequency than the one provided by the receiver, then send either a right/left pre-amp level signal or a speaker level signal into the PSW450's inputs. Then the unit's variable low pass filter can be used to set the frequency you prefer. If you use the LFE input only one RCA connection is needed, if a pre-amp/speaker level then there will be a separate right and left. In either case no "Y" connector will be needed.
I hope this is helpful information.
