I've made up my mind that I'm going to go with the HTS3500Pro when I get some more funds saved up. The PSAudio, Richard Gray, and Blue Circle stuff is where it's really at, but I just can't fork over that kind of money right now. I've decided I really want Richard Gray stuff, but I'm going to settle for Monster for a while.George Grand wrote: »

I use a Blue Circle BC606, it worked nicely and was only $299 new.

Generally speaking you are paying an extra premium for the name on the brand. You can find cheaper surge protectors than Monster.
That being said, I have not heard anyone say anything negative about the Monster besides it being overpriced. Therefore if you want to spend the extra money for the name, then it should be worth your investment.Holydoc (Home Theatre Lover)

And by the time I add two outlets (the BC608), then I could afford a used Richard Gray unit.George Grand wrote: »

Tell Walt you'd like a deal, perhaps $299 or $279 shipped. I upgraded my PC to the BC62 after I had the BC606 for a couple of months, and yes it made a difference, only smaller this time. -
I dont care who makes it as long is it is a good product from a good company.Everything I own burned in the fire!!!!!!!!!!

^^ Those seem to be pretty nice.
APC has also recently gotten into the audio market with power conditioners and such, and Rotel has started marketing APC's units in the typical Rotel enclosure.

Monsters are good, but again are they worth the $$$ when you can pay less for the same?

Audiobliss - what's a HTS3500Pro? Is that different from the HTS3500?
Did you already get it? If yes, then from where?Distant Dream - A New Beginning

Monster Cable has two series of gear, one designed for the home market, and the other for the pro audio world. The HTS3500Pro comes from the latter.
Basically the only differences that I can find is that the Pro version has receptacles on the front and back for small lamps so you can see to hook up gear, rack ears built-in, and a beefier power cable. There may be a few more things that are 'beefed up' in the Pro version, but I'm not sure.
No, I haven't already gotten it. I think I've changed my mind regarding what I want. Right now I'm leaning towards Blue Circle's BC608.George Grand wrote: »

No affiliation on this, but this is a pretty good deal on the HTS-5100, this guy has a pretty stellar feedback with about 3700 transactions on the bay. Anyway he has 24 available. Store Displays for 189.99 BIN.....

That does seem like a good deal. I know awhile back the Monster 3500mkll's were selling for around $110 new. I didn't really need it, but the price was so good I just had to get one.

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to share a great online deal that I came across yesterday which I ended up purchasing ... its a Monster HTS 5000 MK II POwer Reference Center, regular 599.95 marked down to 239.99 ... I kid you not. I was in the market for a power surge bar but when I saw that I could get a Monter POwer reference unit I was floored. This is the price of the lowly Monster power surge bar I was going to buy. This site is actually linked to the official MonsterCable site and called and chatted with the rep. seems all legit. Here is the website and details below. Note that this unit is fairly high up on their product line, you are not getting the low end component. Here is the direct link to the special :

Model: HTS 5000 MKII
Inventory Number: 109309
Now $239.99 ea.
Marked down from $599.95
A savings of $360
Limited Quantity
Due to the size and weight of the HTS 5000 MKII, shipping surcharges will apply
Hope this gets some of you this piece of equipment sooner. Here at Futureshop in Ontario they are trying to sell the HTS 3600 MKII for 699.99 CAN ... CRAZY ... so I grabbed this for 299.99 US (includes shipping to me).
Hope that some of you guys post some online specials you may see.

I'll take a newer 5100 for cheaper over a 5000 for more. Thanks though!Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
