Ok, I was helping a friend setup his new HT with Polks, a Velo sub, and a Pioneer Receiver.
The receiver has PL2, 7.1 outputs, and MCACC and was new
First problem: Only digital connection I could find that would link to the DVD is Coax even though there are 2 optical. Anyway to reassign connections?
Problem 2: Receiver won't default to the source material. DVD's start in stereo and if you force them into multi-channel, a CD is then multichannel. WTF? My 5 yr old box does better than this. Anyway for this to autodetect?
Problem 3: Won't play the TV through the Receiver. hooked the TV up using the analog, fixed volume RCA's on the TV into the receivers TV/SAT RCA connections. Click the receiver to TV/SAT and no sound. No, I didn't try other connections on the box. Do you think this might be a TV or rec problem?
I have never had this much trouble with this crap before. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin
