Has anybody here listened to this SACD yet? I just bought it yesterday and it's sound quality is excellent. I would rate this as one of the best sounding SACD's that I own. Not to mention that it is a great album. If you have a SACD player, check this one out.

All of the Elton John SACD's sound excellent. They are some of the best SACD's in my collection along with DSOTM, Beck Sea Change, and Superfurry Animals Lovekraft.

I agree about the Elton, DSOTM and Beck Sacd's. All are fantastic, especially in 5:1! Beck's sacd is magnificent in surround. I haven't heard the Superfurry
animals disc, what type of music is it?

Here is a link to the disc at amazon. It was released as a hybrid SACD in the UK only........hence the import price. It is well worth the money. The title song, Zoom, is my favorite surround piece of music! People might disagree with me as to what kind of music they do........the title track reminds me of a mix of Pink Floyd, old Genesis, and Roxy Music. Progressive. The rest of the album isn't as ambitious but the tracks are good nonetheless. I hope you enjoy it if you get it.

The Super Furry Animals are idyllic folk that fuse a lot of different genres together. Trying to accurately label them is nearly impossible. If you're on shaky ground, start out with Songbook right out of the gate. It's their 'best of' CD. I'd reccomend Rings Around the World as their best album and a good starting ground if you're adventurous -- followed closely by Radiator and Phantom Power. Love Kraft would not be an ideal starting ground, IMO.

Thanks for the info, I'll check them out. I love Roxy Music's Avalon in
surround. Any other recommendations for good 5:1 SACD's?

Depeche Mode "Violator" is stellar! The Who "Tommy" and the Moody Blues titles are excellent as well.

Just picked up **** Chateau SACD, hope to give it a listen soon. There's a thread on AVS forum that says it's the best of the Elton John SACDs.

Hey Mick88, does the phrase "gold toe sock" ring a bell with you?

I have Madman Across the Water, Tumbleweed Connection, Goodbye Yellowbrick Road and Elton's first release Elton John all on SACD and they sound great!

Ditto on Roxy Music's Avalon, it's awesome!

Check out some Diana Krall she has a number of releases on SACD, all of them good.

Finally listened to **** Chateau. It's a keeper. Bought Snow Patrol's Final Straw SACD at the same time and listened to it last night as well. Wasn't impressed.
