Who rides who wants one and what one do you want /own. I am thinking about purchasing a 2006 Street Glide in black. It would be my first bike purchase. It will be just a matter of sign and ride off. I am having a hard time bringing my self to financing the bike. Unfortunately paying cash isnt an option. I have wanted one for years so it wouldnt be an impulse purchase. Whats your story.

I used to own one, but I sold it. I am looking to getting another Fat Boy again some years down the line. My uncle has an 81' Shovel Nose and a 94' Road King. Hope you decide to buy one, and I know you'll enjoy your purchase. :D

Harley's are cool if you want to spend the coin. They've always been a little too rich for my blood, but a Fatboy would be my pick.

I have a 1980 80" custom. I have had it for 14 years now and I do not ride it nearly enough anymore but, when it was first built I could not stay off it.
They are lots of fun and I totally recomend getting one. (even if it sits sometimes)

True, but they don't depreciate nearly as bad as other bikes.

A buddy of mine bought an '06 Street Glide about 6 weeks ago. His too was all black. He spent a few extra coin for the stage 3 kit, tons of chrome, light bars, and other bells and whistles. I must say it is a sweet lookin' ride. Although I am partial to Fat Boy's, I really like this bike. He absolutely loves the bike and he has owned many prior to this purchase. I do have to say that when we go somewhere, the Harley guys go up and check it out. My RoadStar Warrior still get more attention, but that another story.

I'm torn on the issue. As far as MECHANICAL value, you'd do better with almost any other big-name bike. Yes, they're better t han they were in the past, but they're still not as good as the Hondas and Yamahas of the world.

But other than that point, which is becoming less and less of a distinction... damn I want one. Thye're still the best-lookin and soundin bikes out there, and as others have mentioned, they do keep their value probably mroe than any other vehicle in the world. I rag on 'em, but if I had the coin there's be one parked in my driveway. :)
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

It's great times for motorcycles in general. You get alot of bike for the money and keep getting better and better...

Besides being a nice bike i want the whole image that goes with being a harley owner. (Good and bad) A honda or yamaha just isnt going to do it for me not to mention the harassment i would get from my harley buddies.

Back in the 70's I had a CB750 Honda and a buddy had a Sportster. His leaked oil like crazy, was constantly breaking down. My Honda was NEVER in the shop and was faster. I know they are better now....but if I ever go back to 2 wheels, it won't be a Harley.

    You rock! :D

Here's a picture of my uncle Tommy at his house before he left on a GA-CA-AK-Sturgis-back to GA trip a couple of years ago. Him and my aunt are going to Maine this year on his HD. Last year they rode out to AZ to visit me.

My good friend has a Fat Boy he purchased a little while back. It's pretty cool when I go over his house for BBQ's and there are a bunch of bikes there. Some of those guys have dropped some serious coin into them.

Thats what worries me about what comes next all the add on accessories. I look forward to getting out of the house to ride and being with the people.
